DRY CORE DRILLING * For drilling bricks and breeze block aggregates up to 25mm. * Always use adequate dust extraction facilities. * Recommended drill motor wattage should be no less than 1000w. * Recommended drill speed should be no less than 150rpm. * Drills available slotted or unslotted. * Ensure drill has a slipping clutch. * Unlike traditional carbide tipped coredrills Diamond Core drills require no percussion/hammer action when drilling hence a clean hole everytime with no need to make good afterwards WET CORE DRILLING Wet core bits must be used with a continuous supply of coolant water, especially when drilling heavily steel reinforced concrete or when using large diameter bits. Pure water in an open or closed circuit is ideal however in most cases mains water is suitable if the supply is sufficient. Concrete must be drilled before the bit encounters steel reinforcement. When drilling through steel with small diameter bits it is critically important to apply steady pressure and to keep the bit carefully aligned. Small diameter bits are particularly susceptible to damage when drilling reinforced concrete. Remember, drilling 20mm diameter rebar with a 25mm bit is equivalent to drilling 80mm rebar with a 100mm bit. | ||||
